Investing 101

Investing isn’t rocket science, but it can still be challenging. The Investor Basics section contains tools and resources for individuals looking to learn all about the process of investing. The tools include booklets, links, research, education initiatives, and more.

Investor Education Booklets

IPT worked with the Kiplinger Washington Editors to draft seven investor education booklets as part of IPT’s investor education and protection programs in public libraries. The investor education booklets tackle the basics of several key investor topics such as stocks and bonds. They are designed for the beginning and intermediate investor, as well as the long-term investor who never learned the basics. Each booklet includes a glossary of terms used in the booklet and information on the role of State Securities Regulators and how to contact their Regulator.

The Basics of Saving and Investing

The Basics of Saving and Investing: Investor Education 2020 is an investor education and protection teaching guide. It was developed for high school teachers, however its content lends itself to all types of investor education and protection initiatives including college courses, work place education, after school programs, seminars for adults and seniors, etc. The Basics can also be used by individuals as a “do-it-yourself” course.

IPT National Programs

IPT has undertaken several national investor education and protection programs that also feature strong State and local outreach elements.
